Chambers Europe shortlisted Associate Daiana Assoum for 2019 Diversity & Inclusion Awards
Stratulat Albulescu Attorneys at Law is delighted to have been represented at the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: Europe 2019 by Daiana Assoum, Associate. Daiana had been the only Romanian lawyer shortlisted at the 2019 Diversity & Inclusion Europe Awards from Chambers and Partners for the Future Leader: Minority Lawyer of the Year, an award granted for associates and senior associates who are leading the way in their commitment to minorities’ diversity and inclusion. The ceremony took place on 1 October 2019 in Amsterdam.
Daiana has been a member of our team since 2016, being the youngest junior lawyer to join our firm, after becoming also the youngest member of the Bucharest Bar Association following passing her Bar exam. She is undoubtebly an asset to the firm with respect to our foreign clients and contacts. Along with her multicultural origins Daiana is fluent in many languages such as Romanian, English, Spanish and Arabic as well as French, having graduated from one of Bucharest's most prestigious high schools in Romania, the Lycée Français Anna de Noailles. Being born into a multicultural family (her mother being Romanian and her father being Lebanese and a US citizen) and also being a Muslim living in a Christian majority country, Daiana not only values all cultural differences, but also promotes the value of diversity within the firm and externally.
According to Chambers & Partners, the well known UK-based legal directory publisher, its Diversity & Inclusion awards celebrate firms and individuals who are furthering the advancement of diversity and inclusion across Europe. With clients increasingly demanding to see improvements in diversity and inclusion from their law firms, Chambers 2019 Diversity & Inclusion awards provide an opportunity for law firms to demonstrate the key work and success they are bringing to shifting the inclusion dial. The awards also provide the opportunity to shine the spotlight on role models and trailblazers in pro bono and corporate social responsibility as well as inclusion.
