Changes regarding masks at the workplace
On 14 May 2021, Order no. 699/2021 for the amendment of the Order of the Minister of Health and of the Minister of Internal Affairs no. 874/81/2020 on the establishment of the obligation to wear a protective mask, epidemiological screening, and mandatory disinfection of hands to prevent contamination with SARS-CoV-2 virus during the alert state ("Order 699/2021") was published in the Official Gazette, no. 506, part I.
Order 699/2021 comes with an important amendment in light of the advanced vaccination process of the population: starting with 15 May 2021, depending on the risk assessment performed by the occupational doctor, there is a new exception to wearing a mask at work: no masks are needed if all individuals in the office are vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 virus and 10 days have elapsed since the completion of the vaccination schedule (i.e. 10 days since the second in the case of two dose vaccines or 10 days for the single-dose Johnson & Johnson).
At the same time, according to the Decision of the National Committee for Emergency Situations no. 29/2021, it is hoped that depending on the increasing trend of vaccination and the epidemiological situation, that protective masks can be completely removed, both in open and closed spaces starting in August 2021.
