The IBA Private Equity Transactions Conference in London
Probably the most important event for all lawyers who look forward to networking and discussing business or legal trends with speakers from leading corporations, governmental officials or just other international experts, took place at the Four Seasons, in Park Lane, London on 15 November 2018.
As in every other year, we were present at the conference. We feel it is a crucial place to be whenever we need to keep up-to-date with the ever-changing nature of this area of expertise and discover the latest trends and tactics.
The conference is presented by the Private Equity Subcommittee of the IBA Corporate and M&A Law Committee and has always received fantastic feedback from past delegates and participants, including us. The speakers are well-known professionals and businessmen that are highly regarded and they also cover other topics, such as the turnarounds and restructuring of private equity portfolio companies and the current problems facing General Counsels of major private equity firms.
Amongst other specific matters discussed and analysed, are those related to global private equity markets, including the issues and trends, the way investors view the asset class today and their plans for the future and accounting difficulties in private equity deals.
As usual, we experienced the same well put-together, authentic and intellectually stimulating event that IBA holds every year, presided over by a committee that’s outstanding in keeping the whole event lively and interesting. All in all, it was a great experience and we’re already looking forward to the IBA Conference in 2019.
