SAA co-hosts Romanian Stand at Expo Real 2018 in Munich

Our Partner and Co-Head of Real Estate, Corneliu Popa, represented the firm alongside Managing Associate Laura Neacsu at the Expo Real in Munich in 2018.

Our team co-hosted the Romanian stand with other representatives from Romania. The visitors to this year’s Romania stand reportedly exceeded numbers from any previous years. Our delegation met with over 20 law firms and investors from the UK, US and Germany, amongst others.

The main exchange included views on the Romanian real estate market. Of particular interest to investors were logistics, big retail boxes, offices, hospitality (hotels) and agricultural land, and there was also a particularly high interest in the benefits of investment in retirement communities, which was expressed by the German delegation.

Corneliu Popa has been attending Expo Real since 2006 and testifies that this year’s Romanian presentation drew the largest audience he has witnessed throughout all the years. The main issue of concern, voiced by investors to our team, was the legal climate in Romania. However, Corneliu and Laura were able to thoroughly re-assure investors of the positive climate in the country and the stability in the Romanian market.

Both delegates, being part of our firm’s dedicated German desk, held meetings and presentations in both English and German.
