Stratulat Albulescu sponsors ELSA's Client Interview: Focus on Real Estate event
Stratulat Albulescu Attorneys at Law is delighted to be the exclusive sponsor of the "Client Interview: Focus on Real Estate" contest, an initiative of the European Law Students' Association (ELSA) Bucharest. The final stage of the contest will take place on 16 November 2019 at the Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest.
Founded in 1981 (with ELSA Romania as a member since 1991), ELSA is an international, apolitical, independent and non-profit association with over 50,000 law students from 44 countries, belonging to over 300 universities. Organized on three levels (international, national and local), ELSA contributes, through the three main departments (Academic Activities, Seminars and Conferences and STEP - Interstellar Exchange Program) to the cultural and professional development of young law students. Whether it involves student exchanges, seminars and conferences or simulated interview competitions, the primary purpose of ELSA is to facilitate the development of young people in the legal system.
Also, ELSA promotes its activities through a helpful organizational structure including through its auxiliary departments (such as Marketing and Human Resources). Students and young lawyers have the opportunity to develop in a professional environment, respecting the rigor of an organization with tradition. At an international level, ELSA maintains relations with various organizations, having in common either the student dimension of their activity or the legal one.
The competition organized by ELSA consists in 2 stages. In its first stage, namely the written test, our Partner and Head of Real Estate, Corneliu Popa, together with Senior Associate, Tudor Ciambur and Associate Mihail Cotes proposed a Real Estate case to the participants (students). The students drafted the answers and sent them to our lawyers who will analyse their answers in order to determine the finalists, namely the teams who will participate in the second stage of the contest.
Further, the second stage of the contest will be held at the Faculty of Law (University of Bucharest) on 16 November 2019. The finalists will receive a new case, and on the basis of this, a client meeting will be simulated, the client being represented by one of our lawyers. The jury will be formed of 2 Stratulat Albulescu lawyers, who will decide and award places I, II and III.
The first of this type of competition in Bucharest was organised in 2017. The project consists of simulating a meeting between a team of lawyers and a client, who asks them to advise on a legal issue. This project aims to familiarize the participants with the realities of legal practice. Given the success to date the project will certainly be organized on other topics as well, to get students as familiar as possible with the issues that arise in client meetings and the dynamics of the same.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the ELSA Bucharest team for organizing such an interesting event and to wish good luck to all participants in the competition!
